Matt & Janna ~ Kansas City Wedding

Matt & Janna are married! They had their ceremony at St. Peters church lit almost entirely by candles and it was beautiful. However, capturing this event came with some serious challenges, yet I was victorious. The real point that I want to make here though is the importance of hiring a professional photographer to capture your event. If they had hired a photographer without a full frame sensor and with lens that only open to an aperture of 4.0; they would have had horrible wedding ceremony images, if they had any at all. Most of this ceremony I was shooting with settings of iso 6400, f2.8 at .30sec. For those of you that don’t speak camera, just know that this room was really, really dark. I talked with Janna and expressed my concerns about the light but the candle lit ceremony was important to their hearts and she insisted that the show must go on. I said “No problem, this is your night, I’m hear to serve you and I’ll capture the evening as is.” I went into the ceremony with confidence but if I did not have pro gear, I’m not sure I would have had the same collective cool. Below is their amazing wedding day and ceremony captured as is. When your wedding day roles around don’t hire any knuckle head with a camera and a trigger finger. Hire someone with experience, a creative edge, and gear with the muscle to get the job done.

Couldn’t agree more Steve! The wedding photos turned out incredible, it’s the most important day of your life- a good professional photographer is essential. You will always be the first person I recommend! Great job.
